1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Shorta platform, including our mobile application, website, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Shorta LLC ("Shorta", "we", "us", or "our").
By downloading, registering, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 17 years of age, your use must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase a subscription or make any payment through the Service.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet the applicable age requirements. Shorta complies with IARC (International Age Rating Coalition) ratings applied through major app stores. On devices with parental controls enabled, the app may not be accessible without parental authorization.
Shorta does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
3. Account Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information, including your date of birth
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Keep your password confidential and not share your account with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at legal@shorta.com
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Shorta reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscription and Billing
4.1 Subscription Plans
Shorta offers subscription plans on a monthly or annual basis. Pricing varies by region and is displayed at the time of purchase. By subscribing, you authorize Shorta (or its designated payment processor) to charge the applicable fees to your selected payment method on a recurring basis.
4.2 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription price at the start of each new billing period.
To avoid being charged for a renewal, you must cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the end of your current billing period.
4.3 Price Changes
Shorta reserves the right to change subscription prices. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any price change. Your continued use of the Service after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at legal@shorta.com. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current paid billing period. No partial-period refunds will be issued.
4.5 Refund Policy
All subscription fees are non-refundable. There are no refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods, except where required by applicable law. Shorta may, at its sole discretion, issue account credits in exceptional circumstances. Such credits have no cash value and are non-transferable.
4.6 Payment Processing
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors including Stripe and, for users in Argentina, dLocal and MercadoPago. By providing your payment information, you agree to the applicable terms and conditions of these processors. Shorta does not store full payment card details.
5. Content and Intellectual Property
5.1 Shorta Content
All content available through the Service - including but not limited to video content, series, titles, characters, artwork, graphics, the look and feel of the platform, trademarks, and logos (collectively, "Shorta Content") - is owned by Shorta LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Shorta Content is produced in-house or commissioned from third-party production partners under contract. All intellectual property rights in the content remain with Shorta.
5.2 Limited License to Users
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Shorta grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and view Shorta Content for your personal, non-commercial use only.
You may not:
- Download, copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, broadcast, display, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any Shorta Content
- Modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on Shorta Content
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use Shorta Content in connection with any artificial intelligence or machine learning application, including for training, fine-tuning, testing, benchmarking, or validation of any AI or ML model or tool
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without Shorta's prior written consent
5.3 No User-Generated Content
Shorta is a curated platform. Users cannot upload, post, or publish any content to the Service. All content is produced, curated, and published exclusively by Shorta.
5.4 Unsolicited Submissions
Shorta does not accept or consider unsolicited creative ideas, scripts, concepts, or other materials. Any feedback, suggestions, or communications you send to Shorta may be used by Shorta freely, without compensation or attribution, on a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable basis.
6. Content Classification
Shorta produces scripted short-form drama content including genres such as thriller, drama, suspense, crime, mystery, horror, sci-fi, and comedy drama. Some content may contain mature themes including violence, strong language, or adult situations suitable for audiences 16 and over.
Shorta does not host sexually explicit, erotic, or pornographic content of any kind.
Content classifications are provided for navigational purposes. Shorta does not guarantee that all users will agree with the assigned classifications. Users acknowledge their responsibility for making their own viewing choices and, where applicable, supervising minors in their household.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Service
- Circumvent any technological measures used to protect Shorta Content
- Engage in any conduct that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
8. Reporting Inappropriate Content
Although Shorta does not host user-generated content, users may interact through comments or reactions where such features are available. If you encounter any comment or interaction that you believe violates these Terms or applicable law, you may report it through the in-app reporting tool or by emailing legal@shorta.com.
Shorta will review reported content and take appropriate action, which may include removal of the content and suspension or termination of the responsible account.
9. Copyright Infringement (DMCA)
Shorta respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that any content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated Copyright Agent at:

Your notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the infringing material with sufficient detail for us to locate it
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
Shorta will respond to valid DMCA notices in accordance with applicable law. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHORTA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHORTA AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Shorta's total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Shorta in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
Users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom may have the right to bring claims in their local courts in accordance with applicable consumer protection law.
13. Changes to These Terms
Shorta reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
